5 Amazing Ways to Improve your Self-Esteem
Boosting your self-esteem can be a immense task especially if you're experiencing the feeling of defeating your self-thoughts and feelings.
However, you can see that having a low self-esteem is like a continuous cycle, and when you break any part of this cycle, it can stop the whole thing on its track.
What do a low self-esteem cycle is?
Even without looking in the mirror, first, you'll feel bad about yourself, not only with physical appearance, but also because of making a mistake or someone pointed out something they didn't like about you.
Then you'll start stressing about that "mistake" or "flaw" they pointed out to you. Eventually you tell yourself that you’re not good enough and then you start to believe that. And once you believe it, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, and the cycle repeats.
Below is the 5 ways on how to somewhat boost your self-esteem.
1. Always Take Care Of Yourself & Appearance
Your outward appearance is the reflection of how you take care of yourself and how you feel inside. Did you notice that when you're sick, people tend to tell you that "you don't look well?". That is our body is connected to our spirit and mind and they all reflect each other.
Small things like picking out something flattering to wear, taking time to style your hair differently, or accessorizing an outfit can seem vain and superficial, but they can actually make you immediately feel better about yourself.
The lesson here is not about vanity; it’s about treating yourself kindly.
2. Try To Reflect On Your Surroundings
At time that we have low self-esteem, we think that the problems we facing is somehow our fault. When you’re in that state of mind, you end up taking the blame for everything.
If you find yourself in this position, observe your surroundings and see what outside stress may be influencing you.
Is your job really stressful? Do you live in an unsupportive home environment? Do you live in a community that doesn’t meet your needs?
Take some time to figure out what’s adding stress to your life, be conscious of it, and start making a plan to change it.
