The Truth about the Six - Pack
We have all been there once in our lives, maybe more than a couples times. The "Perfect 6 Pack Bod" fitness battle is one that is never ending. Sometimes you just want to say "ah screw it" and give up. After hours spent on training and restricting diets your dream 6pack looks more like an half assed attempt at its best. How can one achieve a healthy physique?
I decided to do some of my own investigative research on this topic....
Well let me let you what I have discovered....HEALTHY BODY does not = SIX PACK!
To achieve the elusive 6 pack, our fitness and diet routine has to include the following 5 steps
- Loose the body fat
- Focus on overall body workout and not only crunches
- Give the abs a rest. Abs need time to rest and grow
- Challenge yourself by increasing routine intensity
- Protein, Protein, Protein intake is highly important to build muscle and burn body fat
But why is it that you have been following these steps but compared the guy next door who barely lifts a weight yet rocks those abs, you look like a teenager just entering puberty.
You can blame it on your Genes ! Yes, you read right..... A large part of our aesthetic look depends in our genetic make up which is out of our control.
Everyones' abs are structured differently. The size of your abdominal muscles and length of the tendons play a big role in its appearance.
To give you a brief run down, there are four muscle groups that give you that overall ab appearance. But only the rectus abdominis muscles are responsible for that shredded look. Our genetics determines the shape and structure of all these muscles, so a lucky few might end up with a evenly defined 6 pack, some a 8 pack and others none at all.
But fear not my fellow tribe members, learning more about your own body and body type will allow you to achieve amazing results in your overall appearance. Not only will you look good but the health benefits of a balanced lifestyle will without a doubt ensure your longevity in the long run.
So screw the "Perfect 6 Pack Bod", we are all perfect in our own way!
Till next time
Aldrin
